Die verbrannten Bücher - Eine chorische Lesung

The Feuerbach district library invites you to a choral reading with the Bürgerchor Stuttgart e.V. on its premises.

The Bürgerchor Stuttgart e.V. will perform excerpts from the work "Das Buch der verbrannten Bücher" by Volker Weidemann. They will present texts by and about authors who were destroyed during the book burnings of 1933. The authors include Bertolt Brecht, Anna Seghers, Erich Kästner and others. On May 10, the "Day of the Book", we remember these events. The memory of the destruction of books as a means of suppressing dissent must not be forgotten.
