The Magic Flute

The Magic Flute
by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
at the Stuttgart State Opera

Grand opera in two acts
Libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder

in German with German and English surtitles

A story of growing up and love: Tamino is commissioned by the Queen of the Night to rescue her daughter Pamina, who is being held captive by Sarastro. Involuntarily, the bird catcher Papageno is sent along on Tamino's journey, on which the classifications of good and evil, wisdom and unreasonableness are constantly being rearranged. After numerous trials, Tamino and Pamina find their place in the world - as adults and as lovers. We are showing the legendary Magic Flute by the Komische Oper Berlin, which director Barrie Kosky has staged with the theater-video-art collective "1927" in an astonishing video animation world for the whole family.
