- Disgusting Food Museum, Königstraße 21, 70173 STUTTGART
The Disgusting Food Museum presents around 80 of the world's most unusual and controversial foods. Exhibits such as frog smoothies from Peru, maggot cheese from Sardinia or the strong-smelling durian fruit from Thailand invite visitors to question their own ideas of disgust and edibility. The exhibition sheds light on the cultural diversity of culinary practices and the evolutionary function of disgust. Visitors can smell and taste selected samples at the tasting bar. The museum encourages visitors to engage with global food culture and also addresses ethical aspects of consumption, for example through examples such as foie gras or alcoholic drinks with pickled animals. The aim is to provide food for thought and promote dialog about sustainable and culturally diverse diets.
