Since 1980, DER MUSSIKANT has been performing on stage with band projects ("HEUTE Präzisionsmusik") and solo - different styles, but always electronic KÜHLE MATROSEN - Lars "Hubert Kühl" Tischler from Hamburg, on stage on the mic, Marc Trose on the knobs. Goal: Make the DIY sound of your school band from 1981
DER MUSSIKANT: The central instrument is the sequencer. Melodious to brute chords and synthesizer lines are played around it.
The voice - sometimes brittle, sometimes controlled and sometimes vehement - tells stories of daily madness, failure and the struggle for survival.
Simple, straightforward electronic music with German lyrics.
MiNiMALELEKTRONiK: NOT MORE - AND NOT LESS!
KÜHLE MATROSEN
In summer 2020, Lars sent the best twelve tracks to Jörg Steinmeyer from Kernkrach / Hertz-Schrittmacher. Anyone who releases Captain Berlin and Hoffnung und Psyche also needs the Kühlen Matrosen. The collaboration began and the debut was released in December 2020: "Kühle Matrosen - 1982 km/HH". Hamburg halt.
In March 2024, the Kühlen Matrosen passed the maturity test with their new album "TANZNEUEZEIT" on Hertz-Schrittmacher. The release took place at the Kernkrach Festival in Bielefeld. First performance, second album - a cut to be proud of. Listen too.
The second album is less of a tribute to the dust of the old days. There are more danceable beats up front. The sound is thicker. But here, too, every second bar rings of the eighties - and that's a good thing.
After the legendary demolition of the Kir Club Hamburg in May 2024 - although it was the band that was accidentally torn down and not the club - Kühle Matrosen got off to a good start. Marc Trose is now a regular member and fiddles with the knobs live across Germany. Berlin: Pop, Meschede: mono deluxe bar, Hamburg: Molotow, Berlin: Slaughterhouse. There's a lot to hear. 2025 will be bigger.
"The trick is to get as much out of it as possible with as little effort as possible. Minimum for maximum. Of course, that sounds easier than it is. But when it is, it also sounds simple. Simply awesome, in fact." Cool Sailors: Creak and feeling with a dash of stiff breeze.
