Sleeping Beauty is one of the most popular fairy tales of all and tells of good and evil. After the fairy Carabosse's pride is wounded, she angrily curses the little princess Aurora. But in the good Lilac Fairy, evil meets a strong adversary, so that Sleeping Beauty and her prince can hopefully live happily ever after. It has been one of the most popular story ballets since the time of Marius Petipa and Marcia Haydée's version is also a perennial favorite on the Stuttgart stage. In brilliant divertissements and ingenious ensemble scenes, the choreography allows the dancers to reach top form. The grand festivities at the royal court form a picture-book setting, which designer Jürgen Rose has taken on with a love of detail. The elaborate stage set and colorful costumes immerse young and old in a glamorous fairytale world.
