With the performance project ATTENTION!, the Laboratorium is asking for attention tonight, no, demanding it, in order to bring artists with a migration biography and BIPOC into the spotlight.
If you take a look at pop culture, it seems as if we have once again arrived in the era of glitz and glamor. Pop stars want to be showgirls, reality TV about drag queens is entering its twelve hundredth season and even at Mar-a-Lago, feather fans are being brandished. The queer underground arts of drag and burlesque are moving further and further into the mainstream. That's why the Stuttgart drag collective femininini asked themselves: who and what is getting lost in the mainstream? Which voices are not being heard, which artists are not being seen, which art is not being promoted?
