The abyss lurks in the idyll: Elena wants to spend three carefree weeks with her children in a remote vacation home on the French Atlantic coast. Her husband has stayed at home in Germany and the marriage is not going well. Instead, Elena has taken her babysitter Eve and a friend of her thirteen-year-old daughter with her. But what begins as a relaxed vacation time is increasingly threatened, both from outside and inside: The parched woods are on fire, unannounced guests turn up, conflicts come to a head - fueled by mistrust and dependencies. Until one of the girls suddenly disappears. Nina Bußmann tells her story with great psychological depth and a fine sense of suspense. Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1980, she lives in Berlin and Wendland.
