The double theater complex of today's Staatstheater has stood in the Oberer Schlossgarten since 1912. The original opera house has been preserved - but more than 110 years have not passed without a trace: The last refurbishment was almost 40 years ago and was essentially a reconstruction of the auditorium according to Max Littmann's original plans. The technology also dates back to the 1980s. Today, the main concern is therefore the workplaces and the outdated stage and building technology. The work situation for many of the 1,400 employees would not be re-approved today, especially the workplaces in the workshops and in the stage and orchestra areas. So there is no way around a refurbishment.

How must and can the opera house be made fit for the next 100 years? These and other questions relating to the planned renovation are the focus of the 90-minute guided tour with Marc-Oliver Hendriks.
