Classical concert by the Gipsy Chamber Orchestra at the Liszt Institute Stuttgart

Cellist Elemér Duka and his ensemble, the Gipsy Chamber Orchestra, will take you on a journey of discovery into the worlds of classical music, Hungarian Roma traditions and contemporary film music. Duka comes from a family of musicians and graduated from the Béla Bartók Conservatory and the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. He has won many prizes at cello competitions in Hungary and abroad and is artistic director of the Budapest Classical Music Festival. Duka was principal cellist in Zoltán Mága's symphony orchestra for eight years, performing at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, among other venues. In 2017, he founded his own orchestra, in which the cello plays the central role.
The concert is part of the ensemble's tour of Western Europe.
