Spanish Renaissance music of the 16th century

Spanish Renaissance music is hardly known in our country, but it is worth unearthing and performing the treasures of this stylistic period of the 16th century. Fortunately, the artfully composed works have been collected, such as in the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat from the monastery of the same name in Catalonia. In order to bring this music to a wider audience, María Martínez Gabaldón founded the ensemble La Gallarda together with fellow students from the Institute for Early Music at the Trossingen University of Music. Respect for heritage and topicality come together here: The music is played on original instruments, and at the same time the thoughts and moods of the music are related to our present day.
