Versatile and stylistically confident, the five singers of Ensemble Nobiles move between late medieval masses, romantic songs, hits from the 1920s and 1930s and contemporary church music. For their performance in Stuttgart, the former St. Thomas Boys Choir singers have put together a selection of psalm and prayer settings whose roots lie primarily in the Franco-Flemish and German traditions - supplemented by two musical excursions to the USA and New Zealand. Leipzig is also represented: with two works by the former Thomaskantor Georg Christoph Biller, under whose direction the singers began their musical training.
