Azione Improvvisa

With its special instrumentation of accordion, theorbo, electric guitar and electronics, Azione Improvvisa aims to create a dialog that connects the past and the future. The young Italian quartet's current project looks back millions of years and projects the phenomena of the Eocene, which was characterized by dramatic climate changes, into a dystopian future. In doing so, the four composers elicit a wealth of colors from the instruments and the most diverse images imaginable: from the erosion of rock to gently wafting breath to comic-like robotics.
