Eröffnung - Ilija Trojanow: »Literatur und Macht«
- Location:
- Haus der Wirtschaft, Willi-Bleicher-Strasse 19, 70174 Stuttgart
Moderation: Nele Holdack
At the opening of the 75th Stuttgart Book Weeks, the writer Ilija Trojanow will discuss the relationship between literature and power with Nele Holdack (editor, Die Andere Bibliothek) - and what the written word can achieve in a world of political uncertainty. What voice can literature raise in times of social division and authoritarian tendencies?
The starting point for the discussion is Trojanow's current work "The Book of Power", in which he retells an almost forgotten great poem from the 19th century - supplemented by a precise selection of historical and contemporary texts on the structures of power.
Opening words of welcome: Dr. Patrick Rapp (State Secretary in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism), Isabel Fezer (Mayor of the City of Stuttgart, Department of Youth and Education), Thomas Lindemann (Chairman of the Börsenverein Baden-Württemberg)
Afterwards: Reception in the exhibition rooms of the Stuttgart Book Weeks
