Eve und Der zerbrochne Krug
- Location:
- Wilhelma Theater, Neckartalstr. 9, 70376 Stuttgart
Based on the comedy by Heinrich von Kleist
During the night, a jug is broken in young Eve's room. Her mother takes her to court in the small village. What has happened and what is it really about? Did Ruprecht, Eve's boyfriend, sneak into her room at night? And why is village judge Adam behaving so strangely? Is he himself involved in what is happening?
In "Eve and The Broken Jug", we leave the field to Eve and follow her perspective on the crime and the trial itself. In the process, the power structures are gradually revealed, which lead to absurd false conclusions being drawn by those involved and questioned and the obvious not being recognized. Eve has to fight her battle alone.
Two female and one male player unravel Heinrich von Kleist's drama and open up a new perspective on the classic play, which continues to inspire with its wit and sharp political-satirical observation.
