Facesoul

Facesoul is a London-based R&B artist who enchants people around the world with his meditative and healing music. His live shows are both musical extravaganzas and community-building events with a strong sense of togetherness. The Somali-born singer-songwriter draws inspiration for his sound from everything he has experienced on his numerous travels around the world. He began traveling at the age of 19, performing wherever he could. Faisal Salah—Facesoul’s real name—sees his own music as a form of healing—for himself, but also for his audience. His reflective lyrics explore precisely these themes, ranging from (self-)healing to inner growth, with the atmospheric arrangements of his soothing sound literally guiding the listener along the way. Paired with the multi-layered vocal harmonies typical of Facesoul’s songs, this creates an exceptionally soulful, minimalist R&B sound that the British-Somali singer with Islamic roots first showcased in full in 2021 on his debut project, “YSRA” . Tracks like “Grow” and “Love” are not only among his most-streamed songs to this day but also introduce, for the first time, the transcendent style that makes his music so spiritual and otherworldly. When looking for comparisons, names like Sampha, Michael Kiwanka, or Leon Bridges often come up as points of reference, even though Facesoul’s sound is even more introspective and distinctive than that of his genre peers.

At the end of last year, the artist released his latest album, “Arrival,” which blends alternative R&B with soul and indie pop elements and, as usual, intimately weaves together spiritual and personal themes. One year after the release of his album, this exceptional artist will come to Germany this November for a total of five concerts to share his peaceful sound live with his fans. His use of loops and his avoidance of lavish productions generally make his concerts personal, intimate experiences in which, in addition to singing, personal spoken-word passages and storytelling often play a role.
