after J.W. von Goethe Although written almost 200 years ago, it is a parable about modern man, whose desires and thirst for knowledge know almost no bounds. Doctor Faust's quest reflects the universal question of the meaning of life and the pursuit of truth.
The no longer young but respected scientist, researcher and professor Doctor Faust is dissatisfied with his fate. He has spent his life reading thousands of books, researching nature and even exploring the spirit world in order to understand the meaning of life. But he is lonely and unable to enjoy life to the full. Unhappy, he tries to kill himself with poison.
God, who believes in the good in Faust, makes a bet with the devil Mephistopheles. The two want to find out which path Faust will ultimately take - that of good or that of evil. Devil Mephistopheles uses all his magic and seduction skills and offers Faust money, travel and a makeover. Faust accepts his offer. He becomes young and charming again and begins to enjoy life, feels great love for Gretchen, a young girl, and is prepared to die for her. Devil Mephisto is to get his soul.
