FAMILIE FLÖZ celebrates its 30th birthday with a world premiere!

What once began as a small experiment has become a widely traveled and celebrated troupe of theater makers. FAMILIE FLÖZ has revived the art of masks and has been telling wordless stories for decades. They find the great in the small: in the tragicomic failure of lovingly drawn characters.

But there is another core to the work of FAMILIE FLÖZ - the audience.

FAMILIE FLÖZ therefore begin their new play not only in, but with the audience. The question they are often asked, where the bizarre characters in their speechless stories actually come from, becomes a practical experimental set-up.

Welcome to the birth canal! Dead material becomes living figures. How does that actually work? How does a story begin? What does it tell us about the storyteller? What happens between the stage and the audience? And who are we when we wear a mask?

In the new play by FAMILIE FLÖZ, three small universes are created out of nothing, in which the Flöz characters devote themselves to their everyday worries. Three stories, held together by a narrator who is as speechless as she is incomprehensible.

The owner of a Späti in the city who, true to the motto "I cost nothing", sacrifices himself for the needs of his colorful clientele. But he doesn't run his business without risk. Bit by bit, his own story comes to light.

The illness of his own mother throws the son off course. The hospital becomes the focal point of an identity crisis.

A young woman searches for meaning in life in harmony with nature. But her seemingly idyllic life in a remote forest hut harbors dark secrets.

Three people are at turning points in their lives. Certainties they thought were certain are crumbling. Abysses open up. Who will save them?
