The British countertenor Alexander Chance is one of the up-and-coming artists of his profession and enchants audiences with his crystal-clear voice. He has already appeared several times as a member of Vox Luminis with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. Now he is making his debut in the subscription series with a solo program.

Chance has chosen two completely different cantatas by Vivaldi: the sacred "Nisi Dominus" with its devotional character and the secular "Cessate, omai cessate", which is full of dramatic passion. The program is complemented by works by Corelli, Locatelli and Zavateri - fiery string sounds that fully bring out the Italian coloring. Molto italiano!

Free introductory lecture at 7.15 pm in the Mozart Hall
Free travel to and from the concert by public transport: use of the VVS is included in the ticket.
