This year, the cathedral choir will perform the Requiem by French composer Gabriel Fauré under the direction of cathedral cantor Adam Krukiewicz. It is one of the most famous choral works of 19th century France and has made a name for itself to this day.

As a prelude to the upcoming feasts of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, the St. Eberhard Cathedral Choir and the Schola Gregoriana will perform a concert on the theme of farewell on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 7 pm. The Requiem by Gabriel Fauré in the version for choir and organ will take center stage. Composed in 1888, the work is considered one of Fauré's best-known choral works and an outstanding example of 19th century French church music. The concert is complemented by chants from the Gregorian Missa pro defunctis, which in their simplicity form an exciting contrast to Fauré's romantic tonal language.
