We are in the year 2020 A.D. The whole of Germany is in the hands of bland pop stars and unimaginative comedians ... All of Germany? No. A village called Dietenhofen, populated by indomitable West Middle Franconians, will not stop resisting cultural conformism. This resistance is led by Gankino Circus: four virtuoso musicians, gifted storytellers and oddball characters.
As "the last of their kind", the exceptional Franconian artists set off a furious firework display on stage that is second to none: fast-paced melodies, quirky humor and charming nonsense are the central ingredients of their unique concert cabaret - a genre that the four devilish guys invented along the way and have since elevated to a cult art form. And let's be honest: handmade music, an entrancingly weird stage show and a large portion of provincial madness - where else can you find that today?
The four protagonists who accompany the astonished audience through the evening are as inimitable as they are unique. There is the singer, saxophonist and most sought-after bachelor in Dietenhofen: the elegant doctor's son Dr. Simon Schorndanner junior. Maximilian "Knochenbrecher" Eder is the man for the rough stuff - yet he is able to elicit sounds of delicate grace from the accordion like no other. The baker's boy and percussion jack-of-all-trades Johannes Sens wows the audience with true drumming acrobatics and really heats things up on the drums. Only guitarist, bandleader and village chronicler Ralf Wieland seems to be hiding a strange secret ...
Look forward to an extraordinary concert cabaret evening - extravagant, original, whimsical! Or in the words of the Münchner Merkur: "Crazy, all this. Wonderfully crazy."
