Book premiere with beer reception
From ale to pilsner, wheat, stout and non-alcoholic
with Jaroslav Rudiš, moderated by Uwe Ebbinghaus
Jaroslav Rudiš is an all-rounder in the literary world; in addition to an exhibition on the comic "Alois Nebel" and readings from his award-winning novels, he has also been in Stuttgart several times with the music project "Kafka Band". After Rudiš landed a bestseller in 2021 with his "Gebrauchsanweisungen fürs Zugreisen", he is now publishing another volume in Piper Verlag's successful series with "Gebrauchsanweisungen für Bier". Rudiš, who already has a beer named after him in his home town, has created a literary monument to the golden brew: he visited monasteries and breweries, beer gardens and pubs. He traveled to Pilsen, Budweis and Bamberg, but also to Belgium and Ireland, Italy and even Iceland. Along the way, he met passionate beer drinkers, hop farmers and beer sommeliers. Rudiš has been awarded all the major literary prizes in the Czech Republic, and in Germany he has received the Prize of the Houses of Literature, the Mörike Prize of the City of Fellbach and the Usedom Literature Prize, among others. His novel "Winterberg's Last Journey" was shortlisted for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize.
