Lecture by László Zsolt Bordos in the program series Light your Instinct! Interthinking Art + Science
The Hungarian-born painter, photo artist and designer György Kepes, who was closely associated with the Bauhaus for a time, became a key figure in media art in the USA. László Zsolt Bordos, an internationally renowned light artist and pioneer of projection mapping, takes Kepes' ideas a step further. In his lecture, he will focus on the scientific aspects of light art and models of knowledge transfer with a view to this interdisciplinary genre. He reports on formative experiences, such as the opportunity to organize the world's first competition in projection mapping, to project onto the Eiffel Tower for the first time, to lay the foundations of the Light Art Museum and to realize projects at the world's most important light art festivals - always immersing himself deeply in the aesthetics of light.
