The documentary *The Mother of the Train Station* (2022) by Kostoula Tomadaki tells the heartbreaking stories of Greek immigrant women who emigrated to Germany in the 1960s and 1970s. It depicts the struggle of thousands of women who sought a better life, often leaving their newborn children behind.
The camera follows three generations of immigrant women as they discuss their experiences abroad, the reasons for their migration, and the trauma of separation, thereby painting a moving mosaic of postwar female immigration. The film premiered abroad and was screened to great acclaim in Greece, including at the 25th Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival and at the Greek Film Archive.
