On September 26, 2025, the Kursaal Bad-Cannstatt will be transformed into a scene of baroque sound splendor: As part of the Handel Oratorio Cycle, Karlsuhe (HORAZ), George Frideric Handel's moving oratorio "Susanna" will be performed - presented in concert and in historical performance practice and with a top-class cast.

The world-famous Tölz Boys' Choir, whose unmistakable sound makes it one of the most sought-after vocal ensembles in the world, takes center stage. The solo parts will be sung by renowned early music singers: Monika Mauch (Susanna), Margot Oitzinger (Joacim), Hans Jörg Mammel (1st Elder), Matthias Horn (2nd Elder) and others. Instrumental accompaniment will be provided by the specialist ensemble HORACEplayers, under the musical direction of Alexander Strauss.

The oratorio "Susanna" tells the biblical story of a courageous woman who defends herself against false accusations - a gripping drama about truth, justice and fearlessness. Handel set the story to music with great emotional depth, musical wit and fine psychological detail.
