A chamber choir with a history: since its foundation in 1963, the Hallenser Madrigalisten have firmly established themselves on the German choral scene and demonstrated their skills at numerous competitions. Most recently, they were rewarded with second prize in the "premier class" of chamber choirs at the German Choir Competition in 2023. Conductor Tobias Löbner, who also teaches choral conducting at the Leipzig University of Music, has selected a stylistically diverse program for this hour. Rarely heard: Milhaud's Peace Cantata, composed in 1937 in the face of the impending Second World War and shortly before the composer's emigration to the USA.
