Harald Lesch and the four seasons - in climate change
The astrophysicist Prof. Harald Lesch, known from Lesch's Kosmos, Terra X (ZDF), among others, takes a journey through space and time with Martin Walch (solo violin) and the Merlin Ensemble Vienna. The "Four Seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi from 1725 are the environmental ticket between earth and orbit with a minimal CO2 footprint. The musical-scientific journey through time begins with the formation of the earth and its seasons and continues to the current climate change - the most pressing issue facing humanity worldwide. At the end, Harald Lesch observes the dramatic changes to the earth and our climate from orbit - right up to the apocalypse! Even current day politics are not spared.
Harald Lesch: "When they try (...) to bring scientific results to the public in a highly positive way, then music is simply the ideal companion (...) to give the brain the opportunity to deal positively with what has just been heard. Even if it's not such positive news. Because, of course, what I have to say is not just about how the earth came to have its four seasons, but also about how the four seasons are changing due to climate change. And that's not such good news. But the music is the ideal counterpoint." (BR-Klassik)Cast: Harald Lesch (narrator), Martin Walch (solo violin, conductor), Merlin Ensemble Vienna.
