Hausforschertag: Kokons – traumhaft leichte Bauten
- Location:
- StadtPalais - Museum für Stuttgart, Konrad-Adenauer-Straße 2, 70173 Stuttgart
- Date
- January 10, 2026, 1:00 PM
Build your own cocoon from wire, fabric and threads, experiment with light inside and take your work home with you.
A cocoon - that's the strange shell in which a larva becomes a butterfly! It brings peace, protection and transformation for insects. It reminds us of a cozy sleeping bag. Well camouflaged and lightly built, the cocoons lie in the foliage or hang from the tree. Delicate and transparent as they are, you can already guess what's inside...
Architects also work with this idea from nature and develop, for example, membrane buildings or rooms that are reminiscent of a cocoon.
Would you like to transform yourself too? Then build your own cocoon here. Today we are 'spinning' a particularly imaginative structure out of wire frames, elastic fabrics and threads. We will also test the effect of a light source inside. At the end you can take the cocoon home with you.
The event is free of charge and takes place without registration.
