A musical-poetic odyssey based on Robert Schumann and E.T.A. Hoffmann
Concert theater with live music and objects
A concert grand piano becomes a stage: mysterious, alive, permeated by light, shadow and sound. Robert Schumann's Kreisleriana - eight passionate miniatures - tells the story of Johannes Kreisler, the torn musician from Hoffmann's fantasy.
Kreisler plays, fights, dreams. The piano comes to life around him: Objects move, figures emerge, images flicker. Fragmented fragments - echoes of the doubts and hopes of a creative artist - weave a web in which music and image intermingle.
Pianist Ilias Sauloup interprets the Kreisleriana passionately and searchingly. Katarini Antonakaki visually explores the inner world of the musician. A piece like a dream, sensual, enigmatic, driven and carried by Robert Schuman's fantastic composition.
