Dr. Pop
"Hitverdächtig" – The Music-Comedy-Stand-Up Show!
Can you seriously earn a doctorate in pop music? Yes! And what do you do with it then? Comedy and cabaret. Dr. Pop is a doctor of music. He practices on the radio, TV, online, and on stage. In his live show “Hitverdächtig,” he prescribes a cure using music samples and curious—but completely true—music facts. Did you know that termites eat through wood twice as fast when they listen to heavy metal? Or that there’s a “Barry White effect” in evolutionary theory? The deeper a male’s voice, the better his chances of mating. This applies to both humans and koala bears.
In “Hitverdächtig,” you’ll hear music that can save a party, a relationship, or your motivation to work out or clean the house. Whether it’s pop, rock, classical, Schlager, jazz, hip-hop, or rap: Dr. Pop fires off familiar—as well as obscure—samples from music history. And by the end of the show, everyone in the audience will know how to enrich their own lives a little more with music.
The program is constantly updated with current songs and new scientific studies; every evening is different—only the song titles and the host remain the same.
A Potential Hit—The music-comedy stand-up show for everyone who loves music or wants to get into it.
