The graphic novel by Dominik Wendland "Immer alles anders - Be yourself. Trust your heart. Follow your dreams" is a story in which the main character cannot be pinned down and is constantly changing in size, gender and shape. Under the pressure of social demands and expectations, the character stumbles from one everyday episode to the next and falls into a spiral of constantly reinventing herself. The work was awarded the "Comic Book Prize of the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung" in 2025 and can now be seen as an exhibition until March 13, 2026. It is the first comic exhibition with multisensory objects for everyone and especially for blind and visually impaired people. At the opening, Dominik Wendland will read from the graphic novel with audio description by Florian Eib. Afterwards, Lilian Contzen and Dominik Wendland will offer a guided tour. Follow the character through selected locations of the comic - from the beauty salon to the office to the bar.
An exhibition by the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung, conceived and curated by the Literaturhaus Stuttgart and realized by panorama - Studio für Visuelle Kommunikation. The inclusive mediation level was funded by the City of Stuttgart / KUBI-S Netzwerk Kulturelle Bildung Stuttgart and developed in collaboration with pupils from Nikolauspflege, Tilly-Lahnstein-Schule and Betty-Hirsch-Schule.
