J. S. Bach: Weihnachtsoratorium BWV 248 – zum Mitsingen
- Location:
- Christuskirche Stuttgart, Gänsheidestraße 29, 70184 Stuttgart
Christmas without Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio:
unimaginable for many people. The Christmas Oratorio is also a traditional highlight in the annual calendar of the Stuttgart Hymnus Choir Boys' Choir, attracting people from all over Baden-Württemberg to the Stuttgart Liederhalle every year.
To celebrate their 125th anniversary, the choir boys are now inviting people to a special concert: The Christmas Oratorio to sing along to. Together with the choir, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and renowned soloists, cantatas I-III and VI will be performed. The concert will be conducted by Roderich Kreile, the former director of the Dresden Kreuzchor. The audience is invited to sing along to excerpts from the cantatas.
The sing-along concert is open to all those who have been humming the traditional chorale melodies for days after every concert and have always wanted to join in, as well as to experienced choral singers who have already studied or performed the work themselves and would like to make music with a professional ensemble.
If possible, please bring your own piano score!
For interested singers, there will be an audition with Roderich Kreile at 6.30 pm in the Christuskirche.
