Hunters of light 2 - Passion for nature photography

Ten years after their first lecture, the "boy band of nature photography" returns to the stage with a new show: The Hunters of Light show us things and places around the world that most of us would otherwise probably never get to see. They talk about their adventures, their motivation and their very personal way of working and approach. Their pictures are ambassadors of the beauty of our planet and a lecture highlight in German-speaking countries.

The hunters of light, Ingo Arndt, David Hettich, Markus Mauthe and Bernd Römmelt, are not only renowned, internationally award-winning photographers and excellent observers, but also researchers and guardians of nature. Curious, they immerse themselves in the world of animals and plants, studying complex ecosystems, behaviors and changes. They work together with scientists, trackers and indigenous people. Ten years ago, they presented their first joint illustrated book and lecture with huge success, and now they are back with new spectacular photographs, discoveries and stories.

Ingo Arndt's great passion is photographing animals. He is just as devoted to the pumas of Patagonia as he is to the honeybees of Central Europe. David Hettich loves the oceans. With ease, he elicits the deepest secrets of the underwater world. His impressions of the microcosm of coral reefs allow us to immerse ourselves in a magical world full of vibrant colors and fascinating shapes. Markus Mauthe has dedicated his life to the protection of nature, and is particularly committed to the rainforest and the rights of indigenous peoples. In his pictures, he captures the uniqueness of the last indigenous cultures before they possibly disappear forever. Landscape photographer Bernd Römmelt, on the other hand, is drawn to the far north and the mountains. He has photographed the natural wonders of the Alps just as masterfully as the northern lights over the Arctic.

The hunters of light show the diversity of life in their new, magnificent presentation. They remind us that we are all part of a greater whole and that each of us can play a role in preserving the beauty of our planet.

The photographers:

Ingo Arndt is one of the world's outstanding nature photographers. His pictures appear in magazines such as National Geographic, GEO, Stern and BBC Wildlife and are marketed at art fairs worldwide. He has received numerous awards, including two World Press Photo Awards, one of them for his photos of wild pumas in Patagonia. His photo book "Honey Bees - Mysterious Forest Dwellers" is an international bestseller that has been translated into many languages.

David Hettich has been reporting on his encounters with sharks, dolphins and devil rays for years as an ambassador for the oceans. His passion for the

He discovered his passion for the water at the tender age of thirteen, and today his logbook contains over 2500 exciting dives all over the world. With his cameras, he regularly gets up close and personal with the largest inhabitants of the oceans, but in recent years he has also discovered the world of the smallest and smallest sea creatures, which he conjures up with bravura on the giant canvases.

Markus Mauthe is a photographer, producer and activist. His workplace is the habitats of our planet. He is committed to their preservation and the peaceful coexistence of all people. He is the managing director of Mauthe-Media GmbH, which focuses on the production of documentary films that deal with social and ecological issues. He is also a long-standing ambassador for Greenpeace on topics such as forest and climate protection. He lives with his family on the cocoa coast in the Brazilian state of Bahia.

Bernd Römmelt has been working as a freelance photographer and travel journalist since 2001. His work focuses on the Alps and the far north. The well-known author has already published over thirty illustrated books. Some of his pictures have won awards at the most important and prestigious nature photography competition in the world, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
