Space Days. Literature and Participation
Reading and Discussion with David Hugendick
Stuttering is a kind of frantic standstill, an unforeseen disruption in the flow of operations, while our society is relentlessly driven by artificial digital urgency. Yet social participation is a barometer of democracy. A society in which as many people as possible can get involved is better equipped to withstand extremist movements. In this way, David Hugendick’s autobiographical essay “Jetzt sag doch endlich was” broadens our capacity to hear—both to speak and to listen. David Hugendick, born in 1980 in Bremerhaven, is an editor at *Die Zeit*. He lives in Berlin.
