Joseph Haydn: Die Schöpfung
- Location:
- Evangelische Markuskirche, Filderstraße 22, 70180 Stuttgart
When music begins to become light, you are in the middle of Joseph Haydn's "Creation". Under the musical direction of Sebastian Kunz, this oratorio is performed in all its colorful splendor. Ulrike Härter (soprano), Henning Jendritza (tenor) and Georg Gädker (bass) perform the roles of the archangels, who musically narrate and comment on the six days of the creation of the world. Haydn's music paints audible pictures: the floating sounds of the initial chaos, the powerful outburst of light, the glow of the sunrise, the lively bustle of the animal world. Monumental choirs alternate with transparent, almost chamber music-like moments, virtuoso fugues with simple intimacy. Together, the boys' choir collegium iuvenum Stuttgart and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra unfold a rousing sonority that makes Haydn's vision audible: life-affirming, flooded with light and borne by deep gratitude.
