Juras letzter Winter

In his new novel, the narrator, Edgar, comes across the fate of a boy who starved to death during the blockade of Leningrad by the German Wehrmacht. Jura left behind a diary, which Edgar reads again and again, so that he soon believes he knows the boy. Yura becomes a character in the novel, as does Edgar. Their encounter begins cautiously and becomes ever closer as the story progresses. An exchange develops between the two about youth, dreams, literature, mothers, farewells, strangeness and closeness, and they reveal their most personal stories to each other.
