Founded in 2023, the Vokalkunst chamber choir brings together former singers from high-performing youth choirs such as the Christophorus Kantorei Altensteig. They work diligently on a cappella works from the 20th and 21st centuries and present their original and cleverly conceived programs in a dozen concerts each year. Judith Weir (*1954) is a highly decorated British composer and was awarded the title Master of the Queen's Music in 2014. Her Ave Regina caelorum, heard for the first time in this hour, displays a carefully expanded tonality and brings an Advent atmosphere to the collegiate church with wonderfully flowing gestures.
