BEETHOVEN & FRIENDS
In addition to the works of the Bonn master, there are true treasures of chamber music to discover - from his personal circle to boot. The celebrated piano virtuoso and composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel has certainly lost some of his fame over the last 200 years. His works were not to be omitted from Franz Liszt's career as a pianist. However, the great charisma that still emanates from his "rival" Beethoven today was to his disadvantage: unfounded, as his compositions, which were celebrated at the time, prove.
Beethoven and Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia met at least twice. Beethoven was taken with the "Prussian Apollo" and praised his proficient piano playing. The art-loving officer, who was in and out of Berlin's Romantic circles, produced 13 compositions in his short life (1772-1806, killed at Saalfeld), which quickly became famous. Robert Schumann cited him as a great role model alongside Franz Schubert.
A cooperation with the Forum am Schlosspark Ludwigsburg.
