Images & emotions, captured in sounds - an unusual improvisation concert

Since his youth, Kay Johannsen has been interested not only in playing great literature on the organ, but also in inventing his own music in compositions and improvisations, always inspired by images, texts and emotions. It is therefore only natural that he is working on "programmatic organ improvisation" as part of a PhD project at the Lucerne and Fribourg Universities of Music. In this concert, you will take a look into his workshop and hear different approaches to associative improvisation with the tonal possibilities of a symphonic organ.
