Königsberg character in Jewish Kaliningrad. Lecture by Prof. Dr. Ruth Leiserowitz and Michael Leiserowitz

Königsberg was once home to a Jewish community rich in tradition. In Kaliningrad there is now a lively Jewish life again. For over twenty years, the "Jews in East Prussia" association has set itself the goal of bringing descendants of East Prussian Jews living on all five continents into contact with residents of today's Kaliningrad. What do the families of the former Königsbergers have to pass on and how are these messages reflected in life in Kaliningrad today? Prof. Dr. Ruth Leiserowitz and Michael Leiserowitz, supported by numerous images, present which aspects of the culture and history of the Jewish Germans are present in the present, also thanks to the work of the association.
Prof. Dr. Ruth Leiserowitz is a senior researcher at the Institute for History and Archaeology of the Baltic Region (BRIAI) at the University of Klaipėda and an associate professor of Eastern European History at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
Michael Leiserowitz is a tourism expert and works as a guide at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw.
