The Bundesjugendzupforchester (BJZO) invites you to a special concert evening at the Neues Schloss Stuttgart.
Starting at 7 pm, around 40 talented musicians from all over Germany will demonstrate their skills on mandolin, mandola, guitar and double bass. Works by Holst, Angulo, Kaeriyama and Arde will be performed. In addition, a work by Japanese composer Miwa Naito dedicated to the orchestra will be premiered and a piece by Aftab Darvishi will be performed for the first time in Europe. The Bundesjugendzupforchester (BJZO) stands for virtuoso, energetic plucked string music at the highest level, presents innovative programs and combines traditional repertoire with contemporary compositions and world premieres.
The orchestra is led by award-winning conductor Lisa Hummel, who takes the ensemble to new musical heights.
In recent years, the BJZO has played sold-out concerts in Dresden, Leipzig, Erfurt and at Wartburg Castle. Previous concert tours have taken them through northern Germany, Hanover, Wuppertal and Dortmund. The orchestra strives to preserve the tradition of plucked string music while presenting new and exciting works.
Admission is free, donations are requested.
