The documentary series portrays six women from three generations who spent their childhood in a permanent state of emergency and live in Germany today. The eyewitnesses, aged between 14 and 87, experienced and survived the horrors of war - in Syria, Bosnia and Germany. Leen, Wesam, Alisa, Nermina, Ingrid and Carola tell their life stories. The traumas experienced during the war have a lifelong effect, but despite all the adversity, the women have a positive attitude. What can they pass on to our society in their firm belief in self-determination and democracy?
