Peter Freudenthaler, born on February 19, 1963 in Pforzheim,
is the charismatic frontman and co-founder of the German pop-rock band Fools Garden. After training as a piano and harpsichord maker and then studying media technology, he founded the band in 1991 together with guitarist Volker Hinkel, whose style is somewhere between pop-rock and Britpop.

Fools Garden achieved worldwide fame in 1995 with the mega-hit Lemon Tree from the album Dish of the Day, which topped the charts in over 40 countries and was honored with numerous platinum and gold awards.

The band has now released eleven albums and continues to tour worldwide. Last year, the musicians celebrated their 33rd anniversary on stage with a three-day festival and over 40 musical guests in their home town of Pforzheim.

As a singer and songwriter, Freudenthaler shapes the band's sound with his unmistakable voice.

His biography Mein Leben als Zitronenbaum will be published in fall 2025. At the same time, a lavishly remastered double vinyl edition of the album will be released to mark the 30th anniversary of Dish of the Day's chart success.
