LAITH AL-DEEN
2 Before Christmas
Familiar songs, new stories, and an evening among friends
When it gets dark early outside and the year slowly begins to wind down, Laith Al-Deen, accompanied by Christoph Melzer, invites you to an evening of music: two musicians, familiar songs—and plenty of room for stories, spontaneous moments, and a close connection with the audience.
“As a duo, we’re extremely flexible musically, which allows us to get even closer to the heart of the songs—and their stories,” says Laith Al-Deen. “In the process, we rediscover classics, some of which have never been played live—and if they have, then never in this version.”
“2 vor Weihnachten” is not a traditional Christmas show. But when you’re sitting together just before the holidays, it’s only natural for a Christmas carol or two to slip in.
For a quarter of a century, Laith Al-Deen has been one of the defining voices of German-language pop. Millions of records sold, gold certifications, and numerous successful albums—featuring songs like “Bilder von Dir,” “Dein Lied,” and “Keine wie Du”—are a testament to a career in which his music has continually evolved. At “2 vor Weihnachten,” these songs can now be experienced as intimately as rarely before.
