In his new novel *Rausch*, author and director Nuran David Calis tells the story of Ufuk, who grows up in Bielefeld as the child of Armenian-Turkish asylum seekers. Years later, as a director, he attempts to artistically process the experiences of his childhood. A story about origins and belonging, art and politics—and about how deeply the past continues to shape the present.
