Chris Carter was born in Brazil in 1965, the son of Italian immigrants. He studied forensic psychology in Michigan and worked for six years as a criminal psychologist for the district attorney’s office. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he pursued a career as a musician. Chris Carter now lives in London as an author. His thrillers featuring profiler Robert Hunter are all bestsellers.
Björn Springorum, born in Calw in 1982, studied English and history and lives in Stuttgart as a freelance author. Since the path to Phantásien or Middle-earth is hard to find in everyday life, he has simply been creating his own literary worlds for years. Since his debut novel *Herbstbringer* (2013), he has published numerous fantasy and dark novels, including *Der Ruf des Henkers* and, most recently, *Kinder des Windes*.
