About the play
Does dying hurt?
Do I appreciate life more when I know that I will soon no longer be alive?
How do you open up when the other person is speechless?
Can you learn to die?
At the age of 11, Maja Aldinger is diagnosed with cancer. The lives of mother and daughter are turned completely upside down. From the diagnosis to her death, Maja and her mother, Daniela, photographed, drew and recorded individual episodes. The resulting book "Life. Lebenszeit und Augenblick" tells of the loss of everyday life, letting go of visions of the future, uncertainty and death. But also of intensity, joie de vivre, courage, openness and lightness.
Using texts, photographs, videos and music, this performance provides an intimate insight into life with a terminal illness on the one hand and the power of art on the other. And inspires an affirmative approach to everything that is - even when we die and have to say goodbye.
