The SWR Symphony Orchestra plays works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Paul Hindemith, Alfred Schnittke and Dmitri Shostakovich/Rudolf Barschai at the Wizemann under the direction of Antoine Tamestit

Antoine Tamestit plays the viola and conducts the SWR Symphony Orchestra. Together they will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach (chorale "Vor deinen Thron tret ich hiermit" BWV 327 (for strings); Contrapunctus II and IV from "Die Kunst der Fuge" BWV 1080 (for strings); Choral arrangement "Vor deinen Thron tret ich hiermit" BWV 668 (for strings)), Paul Hindemith ("Trauermusik" for viola and strings), Alfred Schnittke (Monologue for viola and strings) and Dmitri Shostakovich/Rudolf Barschai (Chamber Symphony for String Orchestra in C minor op. 110a).

Duration: approx. 90 minutes. Recommended from grade 8. Teaching materials for selected concerts are available free of charge on moodle 6 weeks before the concert.
