Lisa Wilhelm Quartett feat. Mareike Riegert

Lyrical jazz meets dreamy pop music. Almost a year after the big release concert of their record "So Close" at BIX, the Lisa Wilhelm Quartet returns together with singer Mareike Riegert to revive the album in a special line-up.

Drumming in the foreground? Not necessary. The young Stuttgart drummer and composer Lisa Wilhelm - winner of the 2023 Young German Jazz Award soloist prize - knows how to lead her quartet sensitively from the background and surprises us with her sensitive compositions and songs.

Unobtrusive, elegant and with their very own signature. The quartet was founded in 2020, when they were all studying at the HMDK Stuttgart at the same time. Their debut album "Potpourri - quoted not stolen" was named one of the jazz albums of 2023 by WDR, among others, and was also NDR Jazz Album of the Week in February 2023. In May 2025, the second album "So Close" was released, in which the quartet was expanded to include a string quartet and three voices. The new album became a cross-genre invitation to move closer together, a mixture of lyrical jazz and dreamy pop music, melancholy melodies and driving feels.

Lisa Wilhelm's musical path has taken her across Europe - via Hamburg to Dinkelsbühl (vocational school for music), where she primarily followed her roots in pop music. Her love of jazz brought her back to Stuttgart, where she began her jazz percussion studies at the HMDK in 2018 and completed her bachelor's degree in 2023. In 2021, her studies at the Royal College of Music took her to Stockholm before she moved to Lisbon to complete another semester at the Escola Superior de Música. She has played on international stages as well as in renowned German jazz clubs. In 2021 she was part of the "Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy" in Hamburg and shared the stage with internationally acclaimed artists such as Matt Brewer, Melissa Aldana, Yaron Herman, Theo Croker, Ziv Ravitz and Julia Hülsmann.
