Book presentation by the author Dr. Roswitha Schieb
In her recently published literary travel guide, author Roswitha Schieb travels through Lower Silesia. She sets out in search of the origins of the region, juxtaposing sites of religious and national struggles with testimonies of reconciliation and understanding. Schieb tracks down enthusiasts and eccentrics, delves into the Giant Mountains and the "Silesian Arcadia", the Hirschberg Valley with its numerous castles and parks.
Dr. Roswitha Schieb has published numerous essays and books on Berlin, Brandenburg and Silesia. In 2021, she was awarded the Silesia Culture Prize of the State of Lower Saxony.
