LUCK / UNLUCK

This double bill is sure to warm your heart! After all, *Luck / Unluck* brings together two of Gauthier Dance’s three artists-in-residence. Above all, however, it’s a program that packs a punch. After all, this pair of pieces is built on stark contrasts and playful tension—complete with poetic justice! After Gauthier Dance’s new Artist in Residence, in *The Seven Sins*, cast volunteers to embody the deadly sin of sloth, Aszure Barton now turns her attention to the theme of luck. Hofesh Shechter explores the opposite side of the coin with *Unluck*. A choice that is sure to set many people’s imaginations racing. After all, Shechter’s dark, visually striking dance worlds seem predestined for an exploration of misfortune.

Nevertheless, both artists-in-residence definitely have “luck” on their side. Not only do they get to create at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, but also at one of the most idyllic places in the world: the Orsolina 28 Art Foundation. After their last residency, the company is already eagerly anticipating a return to this dance paradise.
